Templates

Use templates to quickly create scouts and assets

Templates allow you to pre-fill descriptions when creating scouts, assets, projects, and spaces. This saves time and ensures consistency when creating similar entities.

Default Templates

You can set a default template for each entity type (scouts, assets, projects, spaces). When you create a new entity of that type, the default template content will automatically populate the description field.

To set a default template:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to the Templates section for the entity type (e.g., Scouts Templates)
  3. Find the template you want to use
  4. Click "Set as Default"

Creating Templates

To create a new template:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to the Templates section for the entity type
  3. Click "Create Template"
  4. Enter a name for the template
  5. Use the editor to create the template content
  6. Click "Save"

Templates use the same rich text editor as entity descriptions, so you can include:

  • Formatted text (bold, italic, underline)
  • Links
  • Structured content
  • Any formatting that helps standardize your descriptions

Managing Templates

You can:

  • Edit: Update template content
  • Delete: Remove templates you no longer need
  • Set as Default: Make a template the default for new entities
  • Unset Default: Remove the default status

Templates are stored per user, so each team member can have their own set of templates that work best for their workflow.

Use Cases

Templates are particularly useful for:

  • Standard Evaluation Criteria: Include standard questions or criteria you use to evaluate purchases
  • Project Descriptions: Standard format for project descriptions
  • Asset Documentation: Consistent format for documenting asset specifications
  • Space Definitions: Standard format for describing spaces and their purposes

By using templates, you ensure that important information is consistently captured across all your entities, making it easier to review and compare items later.
