Security & Access

Configure security settings and access controls in Pilfer

Pilfer uses WorkOS for authentication and team management, providing enterprise-grade security and access control.

Authentication

Pilfer supports secure authentication through WorkOS, which provides:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Enterprise SSO support
  • Multi-factor Authentication (MFA): Enhanced security for accounts
  • OAuth Providers: Sign in with Google, GitHub, or other providers
  • Email/Password: Traditional email-based authentication

Your authentication is managed through WorkOS, ensuring your credentials are secure and handled according to industry best practices.

Team Access Control

Access to team data is controlled through:

  • Team Membership: Only team members can access team data
  • Role-Based Permissions: Different roles have different access levels
  • Project Permissions: Projects can have specific member permissions (if configured)

Data Isolation

Pilfer ensures data isolation between:

  • Personal Workspace: Your personal data is private to you
  • Team Workspaces: Team data is only accessible to team members
  • Projects: Project-scoped data respects project permissions

Security Best Practices

To keep your Pilfer account secure:

  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Enable multi-factor authentication if available
  • Regularly review team members and remove access for users who no longer need it
  • Be cautious when sharing team access
  • Use project permissions to limit access to sensitive initiatives

Privacy

Pilfer respects your privacy:

  • Your personal workspace data is private to you
  • Team data is only accessible to team members
  • You control what data is shared with teams
  • Data is stored securely and encrypted in transit
